Post retirement..I wrote. A torrent of words emerged: reflections of my life to date, wondering what could be next, recognition of the patterns of my life and a dawning awareness of the power these patterns had exerted on my journey. Without the scaffolding of circumstance, I questioned everything. The preferred forms were poetry and short essays. Examples of these pieces can be found in another part of my website.
Other compositions were lyrics..sets of lyrics. The focus of these responses to change is transition and different ways I experienced it. I loved these songs..but no melodies appeared until I met Cate who has helped me to explore musical possibilities. My inner performer cheers as I sing my stories; I am composing tales that will blend with these songs to explore change and my response to it. A one-woman show is in the offing...certainly, I want to share my experiences with all fellow travelers living through transitions and seeking a life of active wisdom. Stay tuned.
