Who am I? Who am I now? These questions faced me as I retired from a long successful career in public education. Further events altered my frameworks forever. Without familiar roles and relationships my identity became an issue. Being between a rock and the unknown, I began my journey through the swamplands of anxiety and isolation. I was in transition – what to do next was a mystery.
Equally, these challenges offered me an opportunity to explore my evolving landscape. An increasing awareness of the patterns that had governed my life and a desire to renew my connection to my authentic self lit my interior journey with an emerging creative edge. Negotiating my conflicting emotions and a desire to find community led me to found Tell-A-Vision Productions. With one component, Transitions R US, I provide a scaffold of workshops and mentor programs- a forum to share stories of change, gathered wisdom and the options inherent in conversations of passion, purpose and possibility. I am building a community of active wisdom explorers wishing to compose a further life. These prospectors of their own lives have told me of their re-imagined lives; they know that the difference between a stranger and a friend is often a conversation. I am a dream weaver and truth teller: the midwife of creative potential for clients living through transitions towards a life of active wisdom. I am celebrating my own journey of living through transition writing poetry and personal essays that enhance my unfolding understanding of my life, support my increasing awareness of living from my heart and creativity as the paintbrush for my beliefs. I have created a journal to support clients as well as a voiceover CD. My love affair with music means finding opportunities to sing and dance. My authored memoir in story and song of this journey towards wholeness is currently in production. |
